The inaugural Strength In Colors 5K & KIDS DASH took place in 2018. Each year the 5K aims to bring families together to celebrate survivors, honor those we’ve lost, and to increase awareness of the 6 HPV-related cancers. Please join us and learn how you can help prevent these cancers! The money we raise together will fund our patient support, education, and outreach programs.
Our circle of race partners and sponsors continues to grow. We are so grateful!

Raising Awareness of HPV-Related Cancers
According to the CDC, based on data from 2022, about 47,199 new HPV-associated cancers occur in the United States each year; 26,177 among women, and 21,022 among men. Cervical cancer is the most common HPV-associated cancer among women, and cancers of the back of the throat, including the base of the tongue and tonsils, are the most common among men. HPV is associated with 6 types of cancer: cervical, vaginal/vulvar, anal, penile and oral, head and neck.
Strength In Colors 5K brings awareness to these cancers and the ribbon colors they represent. It provides a fun and family-focused platform to offer education, prevention information, and support to our community.
All HPV-related cancers are preventable. Screenings, annual exams, education, and the HPV vaccine are all methods of cancer prevention.
