Diane’s Story

Dianes Story

August 12, 2009, was the day Diane Crawford learned she had cervical cancer. Two weeks earlier, a routine appointment with her gynecologist revealed abnormal cells in her cervix. A week later, a colposcopy was performed and confirmed cervical cancer. Thanks to early detection and the quick work of her medical team, Diane is now cancer-free.

Diane quickly saw an opportunity to help others in her experience, and The Crawford Crew was born.

Our Programs

our programsThe Crawford Crew’s programs offer a lifeline of resources, support, and education to empower individuals and families as they navigate the challenging journey through diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship. Our commitment to supporting patients extends beyond medical treatment, as we recognize that a holistic approach to care is essential. Through raising awareness, supporting education and prevention, and providing vital resources, we’re one step closer to our goal of a world free from HPV-related cancers.

Patient Support Program

Thanks to your generous donations and grants, the Patient Support Program designed and piloted in 2023 proved to have a positive impact on patient outcomes.  Data from the pilot enabled us to expand the program to include additional cancer treatment centers and to further refine the program to ensure it meets the basic needs of the patient. In order for us to provide assistance to more patients we need your help!

  • Help us identify treatment centers we can introduce the program to and discuss partnering with to offer financial support to their patients diagnosed with an HPV-related cancer.
  • Help us fundraise specifically for our Patient Support Program

Please send us locations of cancer treatment centers who are serving patients residing in Appalachian counties or other underserved communities along with a contact name at the center. We will reach out to them to set up time to meet and discuss our program. With your help we can continue to provide patients in need of transportation and nutrition with financial support during their treatment. No one should have to choose between putting food on the table or gas in the car to reach an oncology appointment.
