Since January 2011, Raise A Racket (RAR) has become a destination for many supporting our mission to end HPV-related cancers and for tennis and pickleball enthusiasts. On January 27th, 2024, The Crawford Crew (TCC) will host the 11th RAR. TCC volunteers come together to bring attention to January, Cervical Health Awareness month. Since the inaugural RAR, more than $250,000 have been raised and donated to OSUCCC-James Gynecological Oncology (GYNONC) Patient Navigator position, clinical trial research conducted by fellows and physicians in the GYNONC department, Appalachian Cancer Coalitions, and to the OhioHealth Bing Cancer Center and OSUCCC-James Patient Support Program pilot.

Raise A Racket 2022

In the afternoon, we hosted tennis enthusiasts, including pros who graciously donated their time and talent to run the drills at Wickertree Tennis & Fitness. Later in the evening, more guests gathered at The Golf Club at Little Turtle to enjoy hot hors d'oeuvres and cold drinks while shopping and listening to Three Ton Toad.

Our Honorary Chair & Keynote Speaker, Dr. David Cohn, virtually delivered a speech recognizing TCC's first decade and thanking everyone for their donations. Next, Dr. David O'Malley, shared, also virtually, the many ways OSUCCC-James and their patients have benefited from the dollars raised during RAR over the past 12 years. Funding research, clinical trials, and Patient Navigator's are just a few examples of how we put your money to work.

We were so proud and very happy to present a check to Dr. Cohn and Dr. O'Malley on April 19th on your behalf! You showed up and gave selflessly to move us closer to the day we end HPV-related cancers together. Thank you to our volunteers, medical advisors, board members, partners, sponsors, vendors, and families for believing in us and helping to save lives.

It was our first fundraiser and continues to be our signature one, providing education, raising awareness and thousands of dollars to help the underserved, uninsured and underinsured population.
